Thailand's National Cancer Institute and CASHIM signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Ministry of Public Health to advance heavy ion cancer treatment in Thailand.

On July 17, 2026, Thailand's National Cancer Institute and CASHIM officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand to advance the development of heavy ion cancer treatment in Thailand.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Thai Minister of Public Health Pattana Promphat, with representatives from government agencies, medical institutions and Chinese enterprises in attendance.

Under the MOU, both parties will conduct a feasibility study for establishing a heavy ion therapy centre in Thailand, form a joint working group, and promote professional training, academic exchange, research collaboration, and policy and industry cooperation.

By leveraging CASHIM's capabilities in heavy ion medical technology, equipment development and clinical application, the partnership aims to expand advanced cancer treatment options in Thailand and support the country's ambition to become a regional hub for cancer care in Southeast Asia.
